Who this is for
This checklist is for owners, marketers, and small agencies who are improving pages for Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT Search, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, and classic search. It helps you check whether new visibility is creating qualified conversations instead of just more form noise.
Copy/paste lead-quality worksheet
- Inquiry source: page URL, query/referral if visible, channel, UTM, form/call/chat/booking source, and date received.
- Lead type: quote request, support question, job application, partnership, vendor pitch, spam, existing customer, or unclear.
- Fit check: service/product requested, location or market, timing, budget signal, decision-maker clue, and urgency.
- Proof needed: which page fact, FAQ, proof point, service-area detail, price/offer note, or policy answered the lead's question?
- Quality label: qualified, nurture, wrong fit, spam, duplicate, wrong number, existing customer, or needs owner review.
- Response path: owner, first reply sent, next question, booking/quote step, CRM tag, and follow-up date.
- Attribution confidence: verified, likely, weak, or unknown. Do not claim AI search produced the lead unless the source is visible.
- Page improvement: improve CTA, add FAQ, clarify service area, improve proof, add pricing qualifier, fix form, or leave unchanged.
- Review windows: 14 days for form/call path checks, 45 days for quality pattern, and 90 days before rewriting major positioning.
- Decision: keep promoting, update page, tighten qualification, route to Local Lead Rescue follow-up, or pause changes until data is cleaner.
Lead-quality labels to copy into a CRM or spreadsheet
Qualified - clear fit, real need, reachable contact, next step assigned
Nurture - plausible fit, timing unclear, needs helpful follow-up
Wrong fit - outside service area, unsupported need, or wrong product
Spam/vendor - unsolicited sales pitch, bot, backlink request, or irrelevant offer
Duplicate/existing - already in CRM or current customer support path
Unknown - insufficient source/contact details; owner review required

Human-review stop rules
- Do not invent where a lead came from when the analytics or CRM source is unclear.
- Do not treat spam, job applications, vendor pitches, or wrong-fit inquiries as proof that an AI-search page is working.
- Do not paste private customer information into AI tools; anonymize notes and remove sensitive fields first.
- Do not rewrite pricing, guarantees, service areas, or eligibility rules from a single low-quality inquiry.
- Do not automate replies for urgent, safety, legal, financial, medical, or complaint-sensitive messages without owner review.
