Review requests are useful when they remind real customers that feedback helps the business. They become risky when the business filters only happy customers, offers rewards for positive reviews, or uses AI to invent language the customer did not write.
- Send after the outcome is complete: job finished, order delivered, or support issue resolved.
- Keep it optional: no pressure, no guilt, no repeated chasing.
- Ask for honest feedback: do not ask for a five-star review or only a positive review.
- Route complaints privately: invite customers to reply if something still needs fixing.
- Document the source: note the job/order/ticket that triggered the request.
